Zurak Cancer Foundation

Last year, our CEO ~ Abdul Samed Zurak shared the behind the scene stories from the beginning of the organization. The founder's diary highlights the struggle, the pressure and the negative and positive actions in the background. It always looks great on the outside but we would like to give our audience the opportunity to learn how we work together as a team and the founder's views and opinions about the decision making processes in the organization. This initiative is expected to motivate and inspire fellow young leaders working to solve the problems of their society.

Yesterday, our volunteers attended the convergence on sustainability at Ashesi University to participate in a dialogue to map the emerging trends of sustainable innovative solutions and the type of leadership required to deal with issues related to sustainable development. The Mzuzah Africa Convergence on Sustainability has emerged with the understanding that only Sustainable Thinking Leaders are capable of providing the most ap propriate solutions to the present problems of African societies. Mzuzah provides a platform for debate, analysis and collaboration between current and future leaders interested in discussing sustainable solutions to the regions challenges with innovative lens. Only innovation and creativity will ensure workable, stable and realistic solutions to Africa's contemporary issues. This initiative forms part of our One Year Volunteer Program to provide the platform for young people to engage in strategy and policy design for future innovations.

Women form an integral part of community and socio - economic development. We have great interest in providing opportunities to young women in our country to form part of the decision making process of our organization. Our portfolio places high priority on women as the beneficiaries of our initiatives. Today, we celebrate the strong women in our organization contributing their efforts and time to make Ghana a better place.

The stories of independence keeps ringing since 1957. The songs of our freedom is only a state of mind. We are not excited about taking feeding money from our parents at age 61. We are not excited about the health policies in Ghana. We are not excited about the broken health systems in Ghana. We are not excited about the poor access to quality healthcare in our rural communities. We strongly believe in the prospects of our youth organization to take control of the problems facing our country yesterday, today and tomorrow and we are looking forward to the Ghana we wished for. The Accra Team visited the Agboblosie Market (Sodom & Gomorrah) in January to educate the market women on cervical cancer and human papillomavirus in our local dialect.

On World Cancer Day, our Tamale Team visited the Tamale Children’s Home located at Yohani to donate assorted items and raise awareness on Childhood Cancer.

In January, our Kumasi Team visited the Ayigya Market for our “Market Invasion” event. This initiative is a cervical cancer awareness program to educate these our market women on cervical cancer and human papillomavirus in our local dialects
